Liberty of London-Floral Prints

Liberty of London is a shop which is infamous for its printed fabrics. I particularly have focused on their floral prints as this is the subject area I'm studying in class. Floral fabrics have been fashionable throughout history and are seen worn by women and men. The floral fabric is also an important aspect of designs in interiors and furnishings.

Whilst on a visit to the wonderful and inspiring city of London I had the opportunity to have a browse round the iconic shop which first opened its doors in 1875.
I was on the look out for floral printed fabrics around the shop, which wasn't difficult as they were everywhere! Although frustratingly I didn't get any good quality photos with the exception of one or two:

The almost sketchy quality to this print really caught my eye

An insightful video from liberty TV on how their Tana lawn fabrics are produced:

Tana lawn is one of Liberty's best known fabrics. Its most often used for clothing as its lightweight, floaty quality hangs beautifully.
Floral fabrics from Liberty's s/s 2013 Tana Lawn collection:

The Tana lawn fabrics are wonderfully bold and beautiful. Its awesome watching the many videos on Liberty TV showing the process of creating the world famous designs and fabrics.

A vibrant memory upon my visit to Liberty's was the enormous amounts of scarfs they had in store. Any scarf lover (me included) would be in heaven with the endless sea of pure silks and dashing colours, many of which including floral prints, it was very exciting!
